European studies
This offer is aimed at candidates interested in Europe- and europeization-related issues and planning their professional career in EU structures, including national EU-related structures, i.e. business entities, institutions, offices, media, etc. where professional work requires practical skills and specialist knowledge.
European studies is an innovative and dynamically developing interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary programme providing education in humanities, social sciences, law and economy.
Undergraduates will acquire knowledge in the European cultural heritage, contemporary civilization processes including especially cultural and social aspects resulting from Poland's position and role in the European structures created by EU institutions.
Internships carried out in administration offices, social and cultural institutions provide students with an opportunity to acquire practical skills within the following areas: functioning of institutions running social, cultural, media-related, promotional and advertising activities; negotiation and communication techniques; developing research projects; data analysis; project management; acquiring external funds; IT literacy.
Graduates may choose from a vast array of optional courses and cover the part of their curriculum in selected Polish (MOST programme) or foreign universities (ERASMUS programme). This will help students in directing their education in accordance with their interests and predispositions.
Graduate programme focuses in particular on cultural and social problems in Europe. This is due to the fact that the European cultural heritage is one of the most important factors influencing plethora of social processes. Broad knowledge on such factors is crucial for understanding Europe-related and EU-related problems on advanced level and graduating with master's degree.
3rd semester obliges students to participate only in seminars. Other courses are optional. Students may attend courses delivered at selected national (MOST programme) and foreign (ERASMUS programme) universities.
Graduates acquire qualifications required to continue education at PhD courses within humanities and social sciences. This provides graduates with an opportunity to broaden their knowledge, master skills and get professional promotion.
