Classical Philology

Classical Philology primarily focuses on original masterpieces of ancient literature such as Homer’s epics, Plato’s dialogues, Greek and Roman tragedies, Cicero’s speeches, and Virgil’s works. The program’s graduates are prepared for work as secondary school teachers of ancient languages and cultures of antiquity. Other possibilities include positions in academic libraries, publishing houses, media, and other institutions requiring education in the humanities.

  • culture and ancient history
  • translation of the Greek and Latin texts
  • linguistics and literary studies and analysis and interpretation of literary works
