Doctor of Dental Medicine
A doctor of dental medicine (dentist) specializes in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases and conditions of the oral cavity as well as of the maxillofacial area and other associated areas. The professional training is long and a license is required before one can begin practicing. Specializations within dentistry, such as pediatric dentistry, are also possible. Medicine with Dentistry is a straight-to-master’s program and the graduates receive the title of doctor of dentistry. Please note that this title is NOT synonymous with the doctoral degree in dental medicine. The program graduates are prepared to
•    provide specialized dental care;
•    plan, implement, and evaluate preventive treatment;
•    provide clinical care based on science and humanitarian ethics;
•    conduct research in their discipline and publicize the findings;
•    provide instruction in the profession related to running a dental practice
•    continue education in doctoral programs and participate in medical research.
