Computer Science

Computer science is a field combining knowledge and skills connected with methods of data creation, processing, and transfer in technology, economics, genetics, and other fields. CS also focuses on the hardware involved in these processes and on the creation, processing, and transmission of data using special applications designed for specific tasks. The program’s graduates can work as laboratory and research/data center employees, IT instructors in a broad range of educational institutions, software specialists in public offices and other institutions, computer network administrators in the private sector, computer graphics designers, and programmers.

The area of transport and computer science has been integrated into all vital processes of the modern society. Hence, competences acquired during the studies provide graduates with the opportunity to find an employment at any company dealing with transport and information technology activity.

  • Computer Systems and Networks
  • Mobile Technologies and Multimedia

The Faculty of Computer Science conducts research, which is of direct relevance to transport problems and to certain areas of machine construction. Research is focused on optimisation of transport systems in all areas of economy with the exception of marine and inland waterway transport. The main research areas include:

  • quality of  services in computer networks,
  • methodology of e-learning,
  • computer simulation of selected biomedical processes.
