BA in Informatics equips students with general knowledge of Information Technology and Information Studies required for professional purposes. The programme offers the choice of specialisations in software development and information processing, computer graphics and multimedia or computer network technologies.

Our graduates can pursue careers as computer graphics designers, developers and architects of advanced IT systems, website designers, network administrators, IT systems administrators, specialists in software security.

Skills acquired by Informatics graduates will allow them to effectively function as individual IT specialists. They will also be equipped with strong teamwork skills, allowing interdisciplinary cooperation across a number of sectors that rely on IT solutions.


  • can progress to MA programmes (e.g. in Informatics, Mathematics)
  • get a degree which equips them with a variety of transferable skills that are highly attractive to employers


  • students undertake compulsory 120 hours of practice to enhance their professional experience. Work placements are co-organized with the private sector partners cooperating with the Lublin City Office in the field of IT solutions
  • acquire IT skills required by the qualification framework of ECDL (European Computer Driving License)

  • graduates of “Software development and information processing” specialisation will be equipped with the core skills in data protection and cryptography, theory of graphs and networks and complex methods of algorithmizing. They will acquire advanced knowledge of SQL; will be able to create relational databases for typical purposes; our graduates can perform as administrators of database systems; they know PHP; can use design patterns; can write scripts and design web apps in a selected framework
  • graduates of “Computer graphics” specialisation possess knowledge of mathematical foundations of computer graphics, methods and algorithms in computer graphics, computer-assisted image analysis, computer animation and internet graphics. Our graduates can use computer graphics applications and tool apps for processing 2D and 3D animations  
  • graduates of “Computer network administration” specialisation acquire knowledge of static and dynamic routing; switched, wireless and wide-area networks; network security; selection and configuration of appropriate network routing protocols for a particular architecture; switch configuration with the use of VLAN, VTP and STP; access point and wireless client configuration. Our graduates know how to use Frame Relay and PPP in configuring WANs; how to apply ACL access lists; configure NAT and DHCP, how to apply network protection measures and administer a secure computer network
  • skills for communicating within the professional environment with the use of multiple techniques; teamwork skills; effective negotiation skills; skills for formulating views and opinions on basic IT-related issues
  • our graduates can use a foreign language for professional IT related purposes
  • general knowledge of operational system and utility applications; software development skills; knowledge of constructing and analysing algorithms, databases, computer networks, operational systems, abstract data structures, computer architecture, software engineering, computer graphics, computer-assisted data analysis, mathematical modelling
  • skills for applying the mathematical apparatus in theory and practice, skills for proving theorems and assumption in IT problem solving


  • our graduates are qualified to act as self-employed specialists; they understand the general, legal and formal requirements for self-employment and possess skills for developing a small-size IT company
